Perspective - From The Ultimate Self Care After Loss Of A Loved One
Four years ago, as I was learning how to cope with the loss of my husband and son, I made a series of videos about my time walking on a local trail. I was overcome by the beauty of autumn and wanted to share this with others.
When you watch this, it may not be autumn, but I hope you enjoy the next few videos anyway.
Here we go:
Towards the end of my walk yesterday, I marveled at a little sapling, sheltered by the bigger trees. Singular leaf in transition, the tip of a bigger branch in full change, forming perfect symmetry for the little tree it is attached to. Focus expands outward to the whole stand of trees, sheltering and protecting the little tree.
Eye follows an upper canopy branch point to the waning moon that is starting to descend into the horizon.
Bringing my focus back down, I realized it's all about perspective. Sometimes, it is really important to see that big picture and our place within it.
Other times, it is more important to be the fragile leaf going through transition.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life, make it be a great one.
