1. When you first come out of sleep, before you start thinking:
-immediately notice and take control of your breathing,
-keep the relaxed, soothing breathing pattern that you had during sleep,
-or if it wasn’t relaxed, calm yourself and intentionally bring it into that state,
-if you need help with this, contact me.
2. Next, take time to be grateful.
-The 1st time I tried this, the only thing I could think of was "my toothpaste tasted great this morning",
-Start small, start slow, but start.
I read somewhere that it is impossible to be sad if you are expressing your gratitude. I don’t know if that is true for everyone, but it seems to work for me and it just might work for you.
3. Before you get out of bed:
-Gently roll to your side,
-raise yourself slowly up with your arms,
-pause,
-breathe deeply,
-slowly move your legs over to the edge of the bed
-and then raise yourself to a standing position.
I read about this awhile ago and try to practice it every day. Reasons given for doing this are to care for your heart. In sleep mode, your overall resting state means that:
-your heart rate slows down (often to between 40 and 60 beats per minute for a healthy adult),
-blood pressure decreases,
-the body conserves energy and focuses on rest and repair,
-which is a vital part of the body's daily cycle, allowing the cardiovascular system a period of reduced workload.
When you blast out of bed and hit the ground running, you shock your heart into instant, full on work mode. Going the slow route might help your heart function better, longer. At the least, you will catch a moment of personal zen before you begin the rough and tumble of your day. It's simple, easy and free, so why not try it?
Action #2: What's Wrong With You?
The Purpose Of Step 3 Is To Reconnect You With Yourself.
Why Is This So Important?
Here is why it became important to me. Even though I use the actions/steps I recommend to you, I still feel the kick in the chest from the memories of the loss of my loved ones. Initially, I felt like everything was my fault. If only I had... why didn't I see this sooner... What if I had... What if I had stopped... I know, it happened because... on and on it went. Every day was another acceptance of blame, shame and guilt. I was felt like if I wore this guilt and accepted the blame/shame, that somehow they would be returned to me.
And then in even more disgust, I would mutter to myself, "What is wrong with me?"
About 6 months after the loss of my husband, I knew I had to find a way to connect to something solid and real, the only thing I KNEW was real, was me. I was solid, I was real, I existed. I didn’t like anything about me at that moment in time, but at least it was a place to start.
In my search for any solutions to the problems I had at that moment, I did find one that was immensely helpful for reconnecting with myself. As we get to know each other and if you are willing, I will share more and more of this tool with you.
For today, I introduce you to what I call a "Thought Exercise - For Your Daily Mental Workout!":
"The World Is NOT What You Think It Is, It IS What You Think"

Considering all of the things on your plate right now, changing how you think is probably not a top priority. Until it is, try this out.
Ever noticed that your well meaning support people and even strangers may greet you, by saying:


What’s Wrong?
Or have you ever said this to yourself?
What else can go wrong?
And then, just like wicked magic something IS wrong and something DOES go wrong.
So, Let’s Change This!!!!
Let’s kick this 1st “Thought Exercise” into high gear!
First of all, change “you” to “me”.
Next, change the word “wrong” to “right”.
What’s right with me?
What else can go right today?
Consider the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you!!!!
Then let your day flow forward.


For me, it worked like warm, loving magic.
All of a sudden, I could look in the mirror for more than a second of disgust.
And then I noticed that things started to go my way,
they just started to change for the better.
You may have to gently guide your
support people in making these adjustments.
They will, because they only want the best for you!
This will help you retrain yourself to look for the “right”
instead of “ the wrong” things in your life.
Old habits don’t change overnight. Give yourself that "space of grace" to try and then do.
Small, tiny steps forward add up to some serious ground covered at the end of a week.
Action 3: What's Right With You?
We will work with the 1st “Thought Exercise” while combining it with a new one:
"You Are Only One Thought Away From A Different Reality"
I will show you how adjusting thoughts about yourself can change the reality of your life.
The great news about this thought exercise is that you can keep going with this on your own.
You can also apply it to other parts of your life.

Action #4: What Are Your Unique Soul Level Gifts?
In this Action #4 we are going to explore your Unique Gifts – those things that make you so unique, wonderful and valuable, in your world and the world at large. I believe that you were born with these unique gifts and they have led you to make definite choices on how you have chosen to live your life.
Some of these gifts were no doubt genetic and very much a part of your physical life. I also believe that some of them were spiritual gifts from your God/ Creator, available by researching the Akashic Records.
The Akashic Records are "believed to be a compendium of all universal events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intent ever to have occurred in the past, present, or future, regarding not just humans, but all entities and life forms. They are believed by theosophists to be encoded in a non-physical plane of existence known as the mental plane."
Don’t fret if you have different or no beliefs, I won’t force you to proceed with or do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. I do ask you to keep an open mind, as l share the benefits you may receive from the use of it.
It is my hope that no matter which route you choose to find your unique, special gifts, by re-discovering them, you will be able to re-connect with yourself. And by re-connecting with yourself, you will be able to move forward in your own life again.
